    • Development and asset-management processes enhanced to incorporate asset technology requirements and right cost framing; cost, performance and execution benchmarking through the FEL project-maturation process with tracking signposts and performance indicators for scope, cost, schedule, budget, value and volume.
    • More than 100 innovative solutions and technologies incorporated into development and asset-management projects across Malaysia in three years through the Technology Chapter of the AMIR process, with substantial value returns.
    • Business platforms for technology application framed around the right incentive and tax regimes and contractual platforms (SFA, LLA, High Contaminant, Deepwater); cost-benchmarking initiatives for wells, facilities and project framing.

    Deepwater FDPs, redetermination and production improvement

    • Technical lead for negotiation of cross-border and cross-block ITP and redetermination for five deepwater fields and three high-pressure gas-condensate fields.
    • Kikeh deepwater FDP and project under water and gas injection, with integrated SNP deepwater development via tie-back; Gumusut-Kakap FDP under water and gas injection with integrated Malikai development; Lymbayong deepwater de-risking plan and FDP under water injection with integrated Bestari development; Kelidang Cluster ultra-deepwater gas-condensate FDP with an integrated risk and uncertainty management plan.
    • Enabling technologies: smart wells and intelligent completions, thin-bed characterisation and development, smart injection and conformance control, sand control and management.
    • Value generated: USD 200 million cost reduction from expensive deepwater wells, an additional 25 kbpd oil production and an additional 10% recovery factor (70 MMSTB) in the Kikeh field alone — recognised with the 2013 Gold Award in the PETRONAS E&P Success Story Competition and a series of SPE, IPTC and JPT papers.

    Thin oil-rim development and monetisation

    • Technical lead for three innovative contractual platforms and frameworks for small fields, mature and late-life assets, EOR fields and deepwater projects.
    • East and West Belumut thin oil-rim development and monetisation plan: FDP formulation, project execution, operation and production optimisation and innovative technology applications; Chermingat and East Piatu marginal oil-rim exploitation and monetisation; E6 carbonate oil rim through integrated oil and gas development with innovative well, completion and depletion strategies; Bertam oil rim through integrated well/completion and depletion strategies with ESP applications.
    • Enabling technologies: horizontal wells with intelligent completion, transition-zone characterisation and modelling, ICD, AICD, pre-packed tracers, dual horizontal wells in a single hole, ESPs and innovative drawdown and depletion surveillance.
    • Converted commercially unattractive assets into profitable developments: more than 40 MMSTB reserve addition, cost reduction of more than USD 40 million, production and economic life extended by about ten years in the EB and WB fields — and replicated in six other fields. Bronze Award, PETRONAS E&P Success Story Competition 2013, for doubling the reserves of the East Belumut marginal oil-rim field.

    • "Application of a Novel Hybrid Workflow with Data Analytics and Analog Assessment for Recovery Factor Benchmarking and Improvement Plan in Malaysian Oilfields" (SPE 202459, 2020): more than 300 MMSTB in additional reserves and a projected 3–5% increase in recovery factor across Malaysian oil fields, with a replication plan for every oil field in the country.
    • Supported by a portfolio of 2019–2020 publications on subsurface analytics, production-surveillance optimisation, asset value framing and integrated hydrocarbon asset management (SPE 201693, SPE 197808, SPE 196486, SPE 196443, SPE 196436).
